Rita Faye Owens, 40 of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Baptist Church with Grover Neal officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.

Ms. Owen was born in Amarillo to Willie B. and Dorothy Mae Henry on Sept. 11, 1962. She was baptized on Feb. 3, 1980. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1982. She received a degree in computer development from Amarillo College.

She moved her membership from St. John Baptist Church to Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. She loved children and was a very successful child care professional at Watley nursery. She was most recently employed by Web-link Wireless. She will be missed by her co-workers. She always loved to help others in her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie B. and Dorothy Mae Henry.

Survivors include her son, Brandon Lamar Owens of Amarillo; a sister, Belinda Red of Oklahoma City; and four brothers, Calvin Red and Robert Red, both of Amarillo, and Lavern Henry, and Willie B. Henry Jr., both of Marshall.
